Grooming is one of the most important functions in caring for your dog owner. If you do not keep your pet groomed, then your dog may encounter many types of diseases. The steps of grooming your dog consists of maintenance of the coat, nails and ears.  The maintenance of the coat mainly consists of enrichment measures such as proper bathing, combing, drying of skin by dryers, and more. 

Use only conditioners and shampoos that are meant for dogs.  The combing and brushing needs to be accomplished with a soft brush that was manufactured for dogs. There are varieties of brushes available and is dependent upon the breed of your animal.  You should comb and brush your pet daily and any loose or fallen hair should be disposed of immediately. Doind so will prevent fans from spreading hair and entering your nostrils.

Nail-maintenance is one of the first steps of grooming. Vulnerable nail areas can be easily clipped away and should be avoided. These areas are always light colored than the reddish area of the nail in the higher position. You should always hold your dog’s feet with a firm grip. If not, the dog will take an upper hand during the clipping and some injury may occur. Never clip the nails too short as this may lead to injuries.

Only use sharp clippers designed for dogs. It is better to have your dog on the raised surface which makes it easier to control your animal.

Ear canals are to be checked frequently and sterile cotton may be used for cleaning purposes. Grooming associated guidelines need to be strictly followed .
